Facts & Fun - February 2012

Save The Date...
Register now to see Children’s Musical Show

The City of Lawton and the Lawton Arts & Humanities Council is pleased to present, “No One Will Marry a Princess With a Tree Growing Out of Her Head”.  The production by Lawton Community Theatre is set for Thursday, April 5 at the McMahon Memorial Auditorium.  However, daytime performances require early registration because all seating is by lottery selection.

This widely acclaimed fun, witty, and delightful children’s musical features a spirited princess who upon reaching her 21st birthday (and is finally able to choose a husband), discovers that a tree is growing from her head thanks to the local evil wizard, Wartstitch.  She enlists Gimlet the Good and Kind to help her on her journey to the four corners of the earth in search of a solution. This 60-minute musical is recommended for children Pre-K to 4th grades, and will delight the entire family. Funding from the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts as well as support from the McMahon Auditorium Authority allows performances to be offered at special rates.
