Harvest a Bounty of Great Books

Thanksgiving is a great opportunity to spend time together!  Here are some fabulous harvest and Thanksgiving books for you to share and enjoy!

 

The Fingertips of Duncan Dorfman
(Dutton Children’s Books, $16.99; ages 8-12) by Meg Wolitzer. Follow three pairs of children all set on winning the national Youth Scrabble Tournament. Each has a different reason for wanting to win. Apples and Pumpkins
(Aladdin, $14.99; ages 3-6) by Anne Rockwell. Join along with the family as they go on a fall adventure to Comstock Farm. Fall is definitely in the air as the little girl chooses a pumpkin and picks some apples with her family. Bright, bold illustrations fill this happy expedition. A great family journey to share together before you start off on your own pumpkin and apple outings this fall!


Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy’s Parade
(Houghton Mifflin Books for Children, $16.99; ages 4-8) by Melissa Sweet. Have you ever wondered how the Macy’s Day Parade got its start? Over the River and Through the Wood

As you travel “over the river and through the wood,” or wherever you go for your Thanksgiving, you’ll enjoy the classic poem with your children along with the stunning illustrations by Matt Tavares.
